BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has distributed relief at the Moinarghona Rohingya camp in Palangkhali under Ukhiya thana. In the meantime, she took a Rohingya child in the lap with caress and asked the child’s mother about their present situation.

During the distribution of relief Khaleda zia mentioned, ‘Relief is not a permanent solution. It is not possible for Bangladesh to provide food and shelter for a longtime.

Earlier, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has left Cox’s Bazar Circuit House for Ukhiya at 11:20am on Monday accompanied by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Nazrul Islam Khan, Mirza Abbas, Barkat Ullah Bulu, Amir Khasru, Shamsuddin Dudu and Afroza.

BNP chairperson has also given relief to refugee camps in Moinargona, Hakimpara and Balukhali areas under Palangkhali Union. Finally, she has visited the medical camp run by Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) at Panbazar area in Ukhiya and finished her journey. After returning from Rohingya camp, Khaleda Zia will return to Dhaka tomorrow.

Earlier today, Mirza Abbas and Nazrul Islam Khan, standing committee members of the party handed over 45 truck relief materials to the army camp for 10 thousand Rohingya families.

As a relief, every family will be given 10 kg of rice, a few kg of pulses and necessary cloth.furthermore; 5 thousand babies will be helped with food and milk, 5 thousands lactating mothers and pregnant women will receive essential nutritious food.

BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has noted that it is impossible for Bangladesh to host huge number of Rohingyas for a longtime.

she said, Rohingyas have to go back to their motherland for the sake of humanity.At the same time, she urged to the Myanmar government to take back their people with full assurance of security and citizenship on the basis of Anan Commission’s report.She made the call on Monday during the distribution of relief among Rohingya at Palakkhali in Ukhia.the initiative will be taken on behalf of BNP in coordination with all party involved including rohingya community to start repatriation process as soon as possible. That is why the government has to take sensible action plan.She urged to The United Nation including the international community to create pressure on Myanmar for the sake of durable solution.

Bangladesh government was not agree to give sanctuary to Rohingyas at the initial stage.But I had requested to the government to provide shelter them who fled from Rakhaine state to save their life.Still Government’s efforts are not enough to send the Rohingyas back to their own country who took shelter in Bangladesh.
